A&H Architecture

Thoughtful Design. Delightful Living. Albertsson Hansen creates residential architecture for clients who value beautiful, thoughtful design. We offer a full spectrum of work — from small remodeling projects and additions, to new houses, retreat houses, cabins, outbuildings, and barns.

Award-winning residential architecture. We want your home to bring you daily pleasure — and a sense of well-being. It can, when designed intelligently and sensitively with careful attention to functional requirements and sensory details.

Committed to positive outcomes. We understand that designing, remodeling, or adding onto your home requires an investment of time and money. We respect that investment. We use open-book accounting and believe in true, rather than speculative, pricing. We also make a point to speak with you about scope and budget throughout your project, whether it involves architecture, interior design, master planning, or consultation.

Christine Albertsson's clean, timeless architecture is guided by her Scandinavian heritage and New England upbringing. Whether rural or urban, her projects are sensitively sited in the landscape and employ natural materials and colors with simple, beautifully crafted details.

Christine received her masters of architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. She began practicing architecture with several prominent Minnesota firms in 1991, before founding Albertsson Hansen in 2000. An active member of the Minnesota American Institute of Architects (AIA), Christine served on the Architectural faculty at the University of Minnesota from 1993 to 2001.

Todd Hansen

Todd P. Hansen, AIA, CID, Partner

The carefully considered relationship between a house and its natural setting. The life-affirming qualities of well-shaped, well-functioning rooms. The precise detailing in millwork and fixtures. These are the qualities Todd Hansen considers in his award-winning architecture.

Todd received his masters of architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, practicing with several respected Minnesota firms before partnering with Christine Albertsson as Albertsson Hansen Architecture. A member of the Architectural faculty at the University of Minnesota from 1994 to 1999, he is an active member of the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architecture.

"Hansen's clean and warm style transforms the classical architectural vocabulary of America's past — the simple elegance of Shaker furniture and Colonial forms - into contemporary architecture that addresses the requirements of twenty-first-century life."
