"As a neighbor and an Architect practicing historic preservation I am impressed how Albertsson Hansen transformed a difficult house that others might have viewed as a teardown. They met the client's goals with the appropriate scale and sensitivity of this neighborhood."

Portfolio | Linden Hills Bungalow
Remodeling, Minneapolis, Minnesota. This unique concrete block bungalow in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis was ready to be moved into... except for the 1970's turret on the back. The new homeowners turned to Albertsson Hansen to help them create a new kitchen in which the turret became a semi-octagonal seating bay and focal point for family gatherings.
With a new bedroom above the kitchen and some minor changes to other walls upstairs, the second floor gained a family room in the front dormer and a light filled upper hall. The exterior detailing was redone to better tie in with the existing house.
- Thoughtful reuse of existing space without adding to the footprint area.
- First floor laundry adjacent to kitchen for busy family with two boys.
- Clever use of cabinetry to create coat storage and provide entry area at front door.
