Commitment to the neighborhood and lasting connection to place were primary drivers behind this main floor expansion and remodeling in the Longfellow Neighborhood of Minneapolis. The project consisted of two additions, plus a complete remodeling of the main floor. The existing front porch was removed and replaced by an addition on the front of the 1916 house to create a new covered entry porch and sunroom. A second addition into the side yard of this double lot, accommodates a covered back stoop and a larger kitchen with an island. The wall between the dining room and kitchen was removed and replaced by a wide cased opening, to create a period sensitive open living configuration.
